Set on a substantial Bayside property, this modern three storey extension (including basement) and renovation transforms the original double fronted Victorian villa into a spectacular contemporary residence. The villa will be sympathetically restored to include bedrooms, bathrooms and a glamorous lounge in the original front reception room.

While sharing the generous proportions and solid materials of the Victorian, the new extension stands in direct contrast featuring extensive glazing and contemporary detailing. The stairwell and adjacent courtyard sit between old and new which includes the kitchen, meals, living on the ground floor, the master domain on the upper and the gym, cellar and sauna in the basement. A formed concrete loggia protects the northern glazing and curves to the east covering the outdoor entertaining area and sunken lounge pit.

Combining contemporary design cues with heritage features, number thirty nine is going to shape up to be one of our best projects to date. The scope is wholesome and leaves no stone unturned in the quest to revive the 1940’s post war home that exists. We will be stripping back to frame in the existing, and opening up the lower ground spaces with expansive structural propping and steel work. The entire home has high end Architectural detail by Pleysier Perkins throughout. The outdoors will be lined with beautiful greenery, crazy paving, pool and a plant list that will wow any horticulturist. This project will be one to watch over the next 9 months for sure. This progressive build will involve a raft of specialist trades and products to implement over the job. Watch this space.

Hawthorn is a second storey extension to a stunning 1930's semi detached clinker brick home. The rear two thirds of the home have been demolished to make way for a split level extension. Going down four steps into a light filled Family/Meals room with nice open plan and a view into the Northern entertaining area with swimming pool and deck. Upstairs we have two new spacious bedrooms, bathroom and built in robes.

Built in 1927, this stunning California Bungalow is full of it's original features, 3 metre high ceilings, original windows, flooring, walls, doors and everything else. The client has decided to restore this timber home to all its glory and extend with a modern, architectural open plan living area. We will build a second storey above the extension with 3 bedrooms, bathroom and a retreat upstairs which will seperate the original classic weatherboard and create a perfect contrast between Architectural and Heritage.

We specialise in Architectural extensions and this Spanish mission is no exception to the rule. With humble beginnings and a big vision for her new home, Sarah and her designers have worked hard to come up with something that is both good looking and a functional space. The detail finds itself in every facet of the façade, with its tall Silvertop Ash cladded walls, a vast modern, light filled living room and kitchen. The bathrooms and laundry have top end finishes and we've harnessed natural light everywhere we can, keeping the house open, warm and functional.

Our clients have worked with their designer to open up this Victorian Weatherboard home in a leafy pocket of Northcote. We've added a new main bedroom with WIR, Ensuite for Mum and Dad, along with new timber flooring and joinery to the existing bedrooms. A central Laundry backs on to a new Kitchen, which flows through nicely to the Living room and new Playroom at the back of the property.

We've maximised the light and outlook in to the backyard with classy black Aluminium double glazed Stackers, Sliders, and Fixed panel windows. New stringy bark Timber floors will transition beautifully in to the existing polished concrete Living room, and accentuate the modern finishes throughout.

Built in 1913, this stunning tuck pointed brick Federation home has all the original features including slate tiles and is a standout in the suburb. Home to three continuous generations before our clients moved in, the house has been maintained with love. Our task at hand is to extend into the spacious backyard to create a new kitchen, open plan living, study and laundry. We will then push above the 3.3 metre high ceilings downstairs and carefully add two large bedrooms and a bathroom and make this home big enough for the growing family.

Toorak is a double fronted solid brick period home that we are demolishing the back north eastern quarter of the home, and putting a small 10m2 extension that will create a large entertaining area and kitchen. Once we head upstairs, the second storey will consist of 2 new large bedrooms, a walk-in-robe and ensuite.

New French Oak floors throughout, Kitchen, Joinery, Robes, Doors, Furniture and Lighting. With such small confined spaces to work with, it has been designed really well and our clients Chris and Heath were stoked with the outcome!

Renovations don't always apply to period homes, and this contemporary modern millennial was well over due for an update. The brief, to freshen up and update. The result was a thoughtful combination of current modern taste and a considered approach to budget.

Terrazzo tiles are used in tactful restraint, whilst weathered brass tapware add to the contrast across all the bathrooms and feature in the kitchen, giving relief to the laminex ravine joinery.

The island bench features as a centerpiece of the kitchen, handmade american oak with an almost monolithic piece of caesarstone on top, the space is sure to be a hub for entertaining at parties and lends emphasis to a more communal mealtime. 

Generally all the surfaces have seen a fresh coat of paint, with major updates to the main entrance removing a dated internal water garden and pillars. the parquetry has been revived for another ten year tenure with a coat of Loba Invisible. 

Worth noting is the sizable scope of work that went into updating both bathrooms in the home, due to some poor waterproofing and ongoing damage. The result should see this home serve on looking fresh and ready for another decade of style both up to date and up to code.

Another project designed by Adele Bates, Morgan and her husband decided that they would like to bring a family heirloom (Been in the family for over a century!) back to life. A story tale once it is all complete, TCON have been asked to restore all the original features, new Bathroom, Laundry, Kitchen, Living, Herringbone floorboards throughout and some large timber windows to allow all the natural light to enter this Edwardian home. With scheduled completion due at the end of October, the painters are already inside.

Knock down and rebuild of a classic Victorian weatherboard home in Northcote. The client wants to keep the original design of their home, but the cost to re-engineer it for a second storey on a highly reactive site was going to be tough and expensive. They elected to knock it down and this way can have a custom made family home and their own block of land.

Victor and Michelle have just completed a very extensive renovation, but we broke it up into 3 seperate stages to make life a little less disruptive. First, we renovated their downstairs completely with new kitchen, laundry, bathroom and hallway.

Six months later we went upstairs and added another bedroom, opened the space which incorporated a new bathroom, builtin robes and lounge area for the kids. Further down the track we put the final piece in the puzzle - the Alfresco. We demolished the existing decking, removed all the posts and put some large beams in the roof so that the new alfresco could be opened up and overlook the stunning pool, spotted gum screens and decking.

With a large amount of roof space, there is actually a second storey inside of this roof. We have extended the gable end of the roof and installed two new windows to bring in a large amount of natural light to the bedroom. The Ensuite was also very tight for space, so we extended out of the roof, a dormer window, which will be cladded with Alucobond. A new ensuite, new polished timber floors and fresh coat of paint has turned this house into a home!
