An Art Deco home renewed

Minona is a clinker brick Art Deco residence in a quiet Hawthorn cul de sac, fully renovated by TCON with John Say Designs, with interiors by Adele Bates. The facade and its period character were kept, and the home behind was rebuilt for contemporary family life.

A series of positioned skylights carries daylight through the middle of the plan. The build was documented on film and the timelapse sits with the gallery on this page.

The home keeps its Art Deco street face and gains a plan that works for a family today. Architecture by John Say Designs, interiors by Adele Bates, built by TCON. Photography by TCON.
